This Nagymező Street building has great historical significance. As the home of Budapest's first telephone exchange, the building was completed in 1903, and is now a heritage listed building. After its completion, the building has mostly retained its original state. Among the original elements, the most spectacular and stylish are the stairways (Nagymező and Hajós Street wing), the wall composed of the original hexagonal glass elements on the second floor, and the pillared hall and the great hall (the former control room) on the third floor.
Merkúr Palace offers class A offices of various sizes as well as ground-floor retail premises and luxury loft apartments for rent. Individual office spaces can be shaped according to the requirements of the lessees.
