Morgan Stanley has a wonderful new office at the shores of the Danube

Jul 5th, 2016
Morgan Stanley has expanded its Budapest headquarters with additional office spaces. The new addition, situated in Millennium Towers’ Building I., is supporting the appropriate functioning of the company’s Hungarian subsidiary, while also providing an opportunity for further growth. The new office was inaugurated by the global corporation’s two international senior officials: Sue Watts, the CAO of the EMEA region, and Steve Lieblich, the Global Director of the company’s Technology Division.

“The acquisition of this new office space was needed because of the size of our team in Budapest” – commented Norbert Fogarasi, the director of Morgan Stanley’s Budapest offices. “Budapest is offering support in Morgan Stanley’s global business activities, while the new development makes us able to continue our tasks at a high level, plus the recently developed new infrastructure is a base for future growth and improvement. Morgan Stanley’s office in Budapest is the company’s important technological centre – we also intend to recruit the best experts in the field by providing a creative and inspirational professional environment.”

“Morgan Stanley is proud of its diversity and its exceptionally qualified employees. When the company opened its office here, back in 2006, the highly qualified workforce of the city was the main attraction – we are dedicated to continue building on the strong foundations we have built in the past 10 years. We’re proud to see that our Hungarian office is gaining a more and more important role in our global activities” – as told by Sue Watts, administrative director of the EMEA region.

“It’s almost unbelievable to see the results achieved in the past 10 years by our office in Budapest, and to see the vital role it has earned not only in the Technology Division, but in Morgan Stanley’s entire global network as well. It is a critical factor in our continuous success to keep up with the progress, to be able to create new and competitive technological solutions and to keep our ability of innovation. All this can be exclusively secured by our talented global employees who are constantly looking for new ways to discover, are questioning conventions and provide us with further progress by their new technologies. Our office in Budapest is a great source every single day for this kind of power” – added Steve Lieblich, Global Director of the company’s Technology Division.

Thanks to its continuous expansion, more than 1400 experts work at Morgan Stanley’s office in Budapest. Nearly half of them work in the IT department, mainly focusing on bank-related infrastructural developments and ad development, but the number of people working in the field of finance, risk analysis, mathematical modelling is significant, just as in the operation and legal departments.

Employees of the company have moved into the new office with an area of 4100 m at Millennium Tower in April and May. In the new office environment, besides modernly developed workstations, creative-community conference rooms, relaxation corners, retreats and the most modern IT and telecommunication tools can be found. The company also leases spaces in Millennium Tower’s buildings II. and III., which makes the total amount of office spaces leased by the company 17 000 m2.
