The Sofia Palace is located in the center of town, in the heart of Budapest’s diplomatic quarter, next toAndrássy Road. The Museum of Fine Arts, the Műcsarnok (Hall of Art), and theHeroes Squarewith its impressive architecture located at the beginning of Városliget (CityPark) are all just a few minutes walk away. The property lies a few steps away form Nagykörút (Grand Boulevard), and Oktogon, making it easily accessible via public transport (tram line 4 and 6, Metro line 1, bus no. 4, and trolleys 70 and 78). The Sofia Palace is ideal for organizations, embassies, luxury offices and private schools, because of its location in the center of town next toAndrássy Road, the most important road ofBudapest’s center.
The building was constructed in 1876; it was completely renovated in 1999 and in 2007. Since then it has functioned as a state administrative office.
The inner courtyard of the three-story building offers parking for 14 cars. The interior has an air of classic elegance: the corridors are covered with marble, the floor of the stately offices is covered with parquetry and their walls are decorated with plasterwork. The functional offices have wall-to-wall carpets, and the walls and the ceiling of the meeting room are covered with richly decorated wooden panels. The building has two stairwells and an elevator.
